New Distribution Center Planned for Nashville
A 120,653-square foot facility with retail, office and warehouse space scheduled to open in 2016, enhancing offering to Nashville businesses
JACKSONVILLE, Florida (April 23, 2015) – Mac Papers, one of the largest merchant distributors in the Southeast U.S., continued its growth in the Nashville market today with the announcement of plans for a new distribution center in Antioch. The facility includes more than 120,000 square feet of retail, office and warehouse space and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
The 120,653-square foot multi-use facility will be constructed on a 12.64-acre lot the company purchased in April at The Crossings at Hickory Hollow. Nearly 110,000 square feet will be warehouse space, enabling Mac Papers to stock a deeper inventory of the company’s paper and print, packaging, facility supplies and office products business and offer same-day or next-day delivery on a wider range of products to Nashville businesses. The distribution center will house 30 employees, including Mac Papers’ local sales force, customer service, warehouse operations and drivers.
As part of this new facility, Mac Papers will also open a retail store, offering a wide range of cut-size papers for laser and ink jet copiers, wide format and graphics supplies, packaging materials and more.
“Delivering value to Nashville’s business community is a top priority for Mac Papers and our continued investment in this market underscores this commitment to local customers,” said Sutton McGehee, Chairman and CEO of Mac Papers. “As our business has continued to grow here, both organically and through acquisition, it’s time to invest in a larger, full-spectrum facility that affords a larger warehouse with deeper inventory, a convenient retail experience and a permanent home for our growing sales and service team.”
Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, Mac Papers entered the Nashville market in 2012. Since then, the company has launched a strategic growth plan for the region, which included hiring a local sales and distribution team, acquiring local competition and building its new distribution center. This news follows the company’s announcement in February that it completed the acquisition of Boxes Etc. II, a Nashville-based packaging company.
This is the first new distribution center that Mac Papers has constructed since its addition of a location in Little Rock, Arkansas, in January 2013.
