Voluntary third-party forest certification began in the 1990s in response to market concerns about forest management and illegal logging, primarily in developing countries. At Mac Papers and Packaging, we are pleased to be a part of the worldwide effort to sustain and protect the environment, especially our planet’s valuable forests. We are certified by Preferred by Nature to the Forest Stewardship Council^® (FSC^®), Forestry Initiative^® (SFI^®) and the Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) standards for their chain of custody. By definition, Chain of Custody certification ensures that certified material is identified or kept segregated from non-certified or non-controlled material through this chain.
